India has a sovereign right to protect its borders and take action against illegal immigration. Every nation has the authority to identify, detain, and deport foreign nationals who are found to be residing unlawfully within its territory, in accordance with its domestic laws.

However, national security measures must always be implemented in a manner consistent with the Constitution of India, the principles of natural justice, and India's international human rights commitments. Any deportation or "pushback" process should ensure that individuals are provided with due process, including proper identification, an opportunity to be heard where required by law, and protection against arbitrary action.

Special care must be taken in cases involving vulnerable persons, including women, children, victims of trafficking, and individuals who may face persecution upon return. Human dignity does not cease at the border.

As a human rights lawyer, I believe that:

National security and human rights are complementary, not contradictory.
Illegal immigration should be addressed firmly, but through lawful and transparent procedures.
Every person, irrespective of nationality, deserves dignity and protection against arbitrary treatment.
Governments should ensure that deportation decisions are based on verified facts and follow established legal procedures.

A democratic nation demonstrates its strength not only by protecting its borders but also by upholding the rule of law and fundamental human values.
