Strong Condemnation of Gang-Rape Incident in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh
It is with deep anguish and outrage that I express my strongest condemnation of the heinous and barbaric gang rape of a woman inside a moving vehicle in the Khurja Police Station area of Bulandshahr district, Uttar Pradesh, reported on Tuesday.
This incident is not only a horrific act of sexual violence but also a shameful violation of human dignity and fundamental human rights. Such brutality, occurring in a moving vehicle in broad defiance of law and order, reflects an alarming breakdown in public safety and moral conscience.
As an Advocate of the Supreme Court of India and Chairman of the Indian National Human Rights Protection Council, I demand that the Uttar Pradesh Government and law enforcement authorities take immediate and exemplary action. The perpetrators must be apprehended without delay and prosecuted under the strictest provisions of the law, including fast-track judicial proceedings.
I also urge the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and the National Commission for Women (NCW) to intervene and ensure that the victim receives justice, protection, and psychological support at the earliest.
We cannot and must not normalize such crimes.
This is a time for society to rise in collective condemnation, and for the government to demonstrate zero tolerance toward crimes against women.
Justice delayed is justice denied. Let this not be another case buried under files and forgotten in silence.
