This June report on South Korea looked at the widespread posting of sexual images of women and girls on the Internet without their consent and the devastating impact it has on the victims. Despite legal reforms, women and girls targeted in digital sex crimes face significant difficulty in pursuing justice, due in part to officials not understanding or accepting that these are serious crimes.
Indian Girl's Alleged Rape and Murder Sparks Protests

NHRC notice to the Government of Uttar Pradesh over reported torture of a woman by police personnel in Lalitpur
New Delhi, 7th May, 2022
The National Human Rights Commission, NHRC, India has taken suo motu cognizance of a media report that the police personnel of Mehrauli Police Station subjected a woman to extreme torture by stripping her and brutally beating with a belt in Lalitpur District of Uttar Pradesh. Reportedly, she was working as a domestic help at the residence of a police officer on the allegations of a theft in the house.
The Commission has issued notices to the Chief Secretary and the Director General of Police, Uttar Pradesh calling for a detailed report in the matter within four weeks including action against the responsible police officer and any relief granted the victim by the authorities.
The Commission has observed that the contents of the media reports if true raise serious issue of violation of human right to the victim. The Police Officer and his family have not only misused their position but also subjected the victim to physical torture and cruelty.
According to the media report, carried today on 6th May, 2022, the wife of the police officer locked the victim at her home in the evening of 2nd May, 2022. Her husband, a police official, came along with a lady Inspector and started interrogating her about a theft in the house. Besides beating her brutally, they also subjected her to water cannon and electric shocks to force her accept the allegations. Later, sensing that the matter may snowball into a controversy, she was called to the Mehrauli police station where the police personnel tried to project the matter as a dispute with her husband and also initiated action against him for disturbing peace.

HC issues guidelines for bail pleas under Pocso Act
The high court laid down a time frame for service of notice of bail application to the child welfare committee (CWC) and thereafter listing of bail application before high court for the case hearing
The Allahabad high court, while dealing with a bail matter under the Pocso Act, has laid down a time frame for service of notice of bail application to the child welfare committee (CWC) and thereafter listing of bail application before high court for its hearing on merit.
It will ensure that bail applications involving Pocso (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act are listed timely before court and version of the victim is also heard before passing any order on bail application.
Justice Ajai Bhanot passed the order while hearing a bail application filed by one Junaid of Siddharthnagar, an accused under Pocso Act.
The court said that on service of notice to government advocate office at high court, before moving bail application, the police station concerned will ensure serving of bail notice within three days to CWC and within five days to the family members of child concerned.
The bail application will be placed before court for hearing on completion of 10 days after service of notice to GA office, the court added.
The court directed the director general of police, UP to ensure compliance of its directions including nomination of officials for the same.
The court further directed, “The registry shall ensure that the child or its parents are not joined as parties to the bail application by name. It should also be ensured that any other information like address or neighbourhood which will reveal the identity of the child shall not be stated in the bail application.”
Considering the facts of the case, the court granted bail to the accused Junaid with directions that he must not misuse the bail and shall co-operate in the trial.

On Oct 2020, 22 years old Aman Baisla, based in Delhi, committed suicide, as he was threatened with false allegation of rape. He posted live video on Facebook and Instagram to explain how a girl has taken about 12.5 lakhs and when asked to return was threatening him of false rape charges and now again asking for more money or else his career and reputation will be tarnished with false rape case. This shocking incident caused outage among the public, however, no media aired this on news channels.
False allegations of rape, sexual harassment, and dowry are a common thing in India now. However, being politically correct, no political party, celebrity, or media wants to talk about it. This hasn’t been a lone incident and for sure won’t be the last, until awareness is created about it. Feminist organizations with their own random surveys with their own people keep portraying India to be the most dangerous country for women. However, when we look at the real numbers, the data collected from ground level, each police station and each court, the reality is completely different.
LET’S LOOK AT THE REAL NUMBERS THROUGH NCRB DATA 2019
False cases and allegations against men have been steadily rising over the years. As per the latest NCRB report, 2019 more than 1,25,657 men were acquitted from these gender-biased laws. Just to an idea how huge this number is – this is 3 times more than the combined cases registered under rape and sexual harassment at workplace, which our dear feminists make a huge cry for. Note this is just the tip of the Iceberg.
So now the question arises, people like Aman Baisla and others could have fought these false cases in court to prove the girl wrong and then get compensated or punish her as per law. Not really! The problem in India is that “Men are pronounced guilty unless proven Innocent” in these gender-biased laws. A complete opposite of the Law books which says “Innocent unless proven guilty”. Man is completely maligned and tarnished with the arrest in such cases even before the courts have reached a judgment, and this is where most of the men give up.

Voluntarily causing grievous hurt to extort confession, or to compel restoration of property.—Whoever voluntarily causes grievous hurt for the purpose of extorting from the sufferer or from any person interested in the sufferer any confession or any information which may lead to the detection of an offence or misconduct, or for the purpose of constraining the sufferer or any person interested in the sufferer to restore or to cause the restoration of any property or valuable security, or to satisfy any claim or demand or to give information which may lead to the restoration of any property or valuable security, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to ten years, and shall also be liable to fine.

न्यायमूर्ति श्री अरुण मिश्रा, अध्यक्ष, राष्ट्रीय मानव अधिकार आयोग, एनएचआरसी, भारत ने आज व्यावसायिक ट्रक चालकों की दुर्दशा पर गंभीर चिंता व्यक्त की और उनके मानव अधिकारों के स्पष्ट उल्लंघन को सामने लाने का सुझाव दिया। वे नई दिल्ली में व्यापार और मानव अधिकार पर आयोग के कोर ग्रुप की बैठक की अध्यक्षता कर रहे थे।
इस तथ्य की ओर इशारा करते हुए कि सकल घरेलू उत्पाद का 5% परिवहन क्षेत्र से आता है और व्यावसायिक ट्रक चालकों द्वारा भारतीय अर्थव्यवस्था में दिए जाने वाले आवश्यक योगदान को समझते हुए, न्यायमूर्ति मिश्रा ने कहा कि एक एकीकृत दृष्टिकोण की आवश्यकता है जो उनके हितों और स्वास्थ्य की देखभाल करें।
न्यायमूर्ति मिश्रा ने कहा कि ट्रक चालकों को संगठित कार्यबल के रूप में मान्यता नहीं है। उन्होंने कहा कि हालांकि केंद्र और राज्य के प्रयासों की सराहना की जाती है, फिर भी सामाजिक सुरक्षा के प्रावधान, पदार्थों के दुरुपयोग को कम करने, उनके गैर-जिम्मेदार यौन व्यवहारों के बारे में जागरूकता, उनके वेतन को मानकीकृत करने और नियमित अवकाश के प्रावधान पर ध्यान केंद्रित करने के लिए और अधिक प्रयास किए जाने की आवश्यकता है।
उद्घाटन सत्र के अलावा, बैठक को तीन तकनीकी सत्रों में विभाजित किया गया था जिसमें 'शोषण से सुरक्षा', 'सामाजिक-आर्थिक कल्याण ढांचा' और व्यावसायिक ट्रक चालकों की 'शारीरिक और मानसिक भलाई' शामिल थी।
चर्चा के दौरान उभरे कुछ महत्वपूर्ण पहलू इस प्रकार हैं:
• ट्रक ड्राइवरों को अनिवार्य स्वास्थ्य और दुर्घटना बीमा प्रदान किया जाना;
• सभी राष्ट्रीय राजमार्गों और एक्सप्रेसवे पर आराम करने, स्वच्छ भोजन, पीने योग्य पानी और साफ सफ़ाई की सुविधाओं सहित ट्रक-स्टॉप और विश्राम स्थलों का प्रावधान,
• • जीवन बीमा, भविष्य निधि, आदि सहित अनिवार्य सामाजिक सुरक्षा लाभों के साथ औपचारिक पारिश्रमिक संरचना;
• • भ्रष्टाचार और रिश्वत की शिकायतों के पंजीकरण के लिए एक समर्पित हेल्पलाइन स्थापित करना, और
• • व्यावसायिक ट्रक चालकों की गतिहीन और अनम्य और अत्यधिक तनावपूर्ण जीवन शैली से राहत के रूप में बुनियादी मनोवैज्ञानिक कल्याण प्रदान करने के प्रयास।
बैठक में चर्चा और प्रस्तुतियों के अलावा, एनएचआरसी अध्यक्ष ने प्रतिभागियों से कानूनों, नियमों, विनियमों और उनके कार्यान्वयन में अंतराल की पहचान करते हुए अपने विशिष्ट सुझाव भेजने के लिए कहा, जिससे व्यावसायिक ट्रक चालकों के अधिकारों की रक्षा हेतु भविष्य के लिए सिफारिशें तैयार की जा सकें।

महाराष्ट्र: बेटी का यौन शोषण करने वाले पिता को पांच साल की सजा, कोर्ट ने कहा- ...यह तथ्य हैरान करने वाला
तीन साल पुराने मामले में मुंबई कोर्ट ने अपनी पांच साल की बेटी के साथ यौन शोषण करने वाले पिता को पांच साल की सजा सुनाई है। कोर्ट ने कहा है कि एक पिता अपनी बेटी का संरक्षण और विश्वासपात्र होता है, ऐसे में यह मामला और भी गंभीर हो जाता है। कोर्ट ने 40 वर्षीय पिता को मामले में पॉक्सो एक्ट के तहत दोषी करार दिया है। इसके साथ ही कोर्ट ने बचाव पक्ष की उस दलील को खारिज कर दिया, जिसमें कहा गया था कि कोई "त्वचा से त्वचा" का स्पर्श नहीं था।
आरोपी की दलीलें हैरान करने वाली
विशेष न्यायाधीश एचसी शेंदे ने कहा कि आरोपी की ओर से पेश की गई दलीलें हैरान करने वाली हैं। दलील में कहा गया कि पीड़िता ने कभी नहीं कहा कि उनके पिता ने अपनी उंगली से उसके गुप्तांग को छुआ था। न्यायाधीश ने कहा कि इस तरह के तर्क हैरान करने वाले हैं। क्योंकि, पॉक्सो एक्ट में यौन उत्पीड़न के प्रावधान या परिभाषा में भी यह उल्लेख नहीं है कि हमलावर को पीड़ित के निजी अंग को कैसे छूना चाहिए और अगर पीड़ित पर हमलावर द्वारा हमला किया जाता है तो यह कितना अपराध है।
